Reason for getting into Physical Therapy:
My passion and commitment for improving anything I do is very important to me. One of my favorite movies of all times is “Patch Adams.” The main character, Hunter Adams is played by Robin Williams. He said, “You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win no matter what the outcome.” This is unique because it allows me to value the process of what I’m experiencing. Whether it’s watching my children learn a new thing or see a patient strengthen themselves back to normalcy.
Share a memorable moment about a patient recovery:
I was treating a woman named, Dorothy, who was 96-years young had no interest in doing her exercises. We made it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, but nothing truly worked. She would come in for therapy and half-heartedly go through the motions of her exercises. Dorothy’s 80 year-old sister who joined her at therapy, saw her doing her bicep curls like molasses and simply told her, “Dorothy, if you don’t do your exercises properly, no Turkey Hill ice-cream tonight!” This motivated Dorothy to become interested in her exercises!
I’m married with three children- two sons and a daughter. We enjoy road trips, hiking, traveling and relaxing at home. When I have time, I love to play tennis and golf.
